Originally announced for a Japan-only release, Koei Tecmo has revealed that its video game adaptation of Kentaro Miura’s Berserk manga will officially be heading to North America this fall.
Tentatively titled Berserk and also known as Berserk Warriors, the Omega Force-developed title will release later this year for PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, and PC. (An additional PS3 version will only be released in Japan.) No exact release date has been announced for its North American arrival.
Marrying the gameplay of the Dynasty Warriors series with beloved storylines from the series, Berserk will focus on the life of protagonist Guts and Griffith, the leader of the Band of the Hawk.
The adaptation of the manga and anime series will incorporate aspects of the franchise, such as Magic and Transformations, into the hack-and-slash gameplay of the Dynasty Warriors series.
Berserk recently returned in anime form, with a premiere episode IGN called “a strong return to a dark land of dark rituals and bloody battles.” For more, check out IGN’s review of the most recent episode.
